Easter 2011

Today was a GREAT day. We had a lot of fun and for the most part the weather was nice too. We started the day with Matty going through his Easter basket. He got a book with multiple stories in it, Bambie on DVD, play dough, a football, egg chalk, and of course a LOT of candy. Once he had finished going through his basket we went outside so Matty could find the eggs the Easter Bunny had hidden in the yard. He got excited each time he found an egg he would shout "A new one!" I think he meant another one but it was cute how he said it. After he had found all the eggs we went inside and had breakfast. While we were eating the sun came out so when we finished we went back out and Matty drove his Police car around and then played with the neighbor kids for a while. ( For a bit it looked like Toys R Us had thrown up on our lawn, there were so many toys out! LOL!) By mid afternoon the sun was finding it's way back behind some clouds  so we went back in. Matty opened his Easter bag from Grandma and Grandpa G. and one thing that was inside was a Mickey Mouse Club House DVD, so Matt and Matty watched that while I worked on stuff for dinner.  I worked hard and made us a big dinner with roast turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread casserole, deviled eggs, and strawberry delight. Once our belly's were full to the max we went back outside. Matty drove in his car and Matt and I threw the football around a bit. Finally we all started to tire out so we went back inside and relaxed a bit before putting Matty to bed. It really was a good day.

One LONG Day

Yesterday our new entertainment center came in Matt set it aside to put togeather after he got off work. Matty and I went over to our neighbors house and made hats for the Easter Hat Parade on Saterday, Matty's hat looks like Cookie Monster. Matty played with the neighbor kids a bit and then we came back home. Once Matt got off work he started in on the entertainment center, it was 11:30 pm. He finished, all but the back panel, around 3am. Once we got up this morning I got Matty and myself ready and we headed down to the community center. Matt finished the entertainment center and transferred everything over to it, it looks great! Matty didn't seem to excited about the activities they had planed at the community center so he spent most of the time on the playground. While he was playing, I talked to a lady who was with her grandson, he was riding a little four wheeler. They noticed Matty's interest in the bike and said he could have his old one if we were interested, all it needs is a new battery. I said yes and we picked it up a little over a hour ago. It's a one seat Ford Truck. I think we'll have him learn to drive in this so he doesn't destroy his Charger. Now we are sitting and watching Mickey. It's to late for him to go down for a nap so it will be early to bed, probably for Matt and I too. We didn't get much sleep last night making this feel like one LONG day and we have a very busy day planed for tomorrow so we really need our sleep!

Mattys New Toys

Busy Day

This morning Matt and I got up and realized Matty's Dodge Charger Police Car was in so we all went to Walmart to pick it up. When we got there we saw a HUGE box, sure enough it was ours. So Matt ran Matty and I back home then headed back to the store to pick up the car. While Matt was out Matty's new slide was delivered, the box it was in was taller than me! When Matt got home we opened the slide and then took it outside for Matty to play on while Matt put his car together. Matty was one very excited little boy! The battery for the car has to charge for 24 hours before the first use so hopefully the weather will be nice tomorrow and Matty will be able to play with all his fun new toys.

Today has been a long day. Matty's mood definatly seems to be matching our wonderful gray weather. I haven't been taking him out much when the weather gets nasty but we made a quick trip to Walmart today never the less. We grabbed the items we needed for our special Easter Dinner and a few other items needed for Matt's lunches for work. Matty was all excited that he got some ice cream bars, the orange ones are his favorite. Once we got home he had an ice cream bar and watched Micky, his new obsession. Once his show was over I put him down for his nap, he slept surprisingly well. His mood however didn't seem to get much better even with sleep but I turned Micky back on and that seemed to calm him a bit. Just as I was getting to put him down for bed I descovered a rash on his belly. My guess is the rash is from the heat but I'll check it in the morning and see if we need to get him into the Dr. I really hope he doesn't have a bad allergy to anything.

This is interesting.

Ok, I'm going to give this blog thing a try. I can't promise anything but like I said , I'll try, lol.
