Florida 2011

Well we got in on Saturday and our first stop was Shades Of Green for tickets and an autograph book for Matty. Then we decided that we were all hungry so we went to one of our favorite restaurants Bob Evans, YUM!!! Once we made it to the resort we unpacked and got settled in for the week ahead.

Sunday we got up early and went to Epcot. When we road Nemo the ride stopped right at the point where you meet Crush and bubbles speed around you and make you feel dizzy. We were all greatfull when it started moving again, so were our stomachs. For lunch we ate down in the Land and had some really good sandwiches. Before we started walking around world showcase we went up in the big ball. Matty loved this ride! We went on it twice and he was asking to go on it again the next day. Once we started going around world showcase we saw Donald in Mexico, Matty calls him Duck, LOL! We stopped to get his autograph and pictures then we moved on to China for some egg rolls. Matty needed some food that was a little more familiar so we rushed past a few of the countries and headed for America so he could have chicken nuggets. Matt went back to Germany while Matty ate and got a brat and beer for his dinner then it was time to head to France for the BEST desert. I had a crescent roll and a strawberry tart, once again YUM!!! After we were all full we went and stood in line to meet characters. We saw and got autographs from Mickey, Minny, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. Matty was so serious about meeting the characters and getting their autographs that he didn't smile in the pictures, little stinker LOL! We ended the night with one more trip through the big ball and then headed back to the resort for the night.

Monday was a little more relaxing we got up and went to the Grand Floridian  for a late breakfast with Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Tigger, and Pooh. Then we road the monorail around because Matty LOVES it. We returned back to the resort and went swimming down at the water Park for a bit then got ready to go to City Walk. Mom and Dad dropped me and Matt off at City Walk and we went to Bubba Gumps for dinner before we headed to Blue Man Group. The show was AWESOME!!! Matt and I both really want to go back.

Tuesday we went to MGM. The first place we went was to see Disney Playhouse Live, Matty got really excited watching Mickey and when the bubbles came down from the ceiling. After the show Matt an I road Tower of Terror twice in a row, FUN!!! For lunch we went to one of my favorite places, The 50's Prime Time Cafe. The food there is really good and I LOVE the deserts! ( Wow can anyone tell how much I like food LOL!) I also tried out for their American Idol Experience but didn't make it. The Lady said she really liked my voice and wanted to here me sing more but I lacked confidence needed to perform in front of others, I agree. When we were finished with rides we waited in line to see Buzz and Woody. Once again Matty was so serious about meeting them and getting their autographs that he didn't smile. : (

Today was another easy going day due to the rain. We had a late breakfast at Bob Evans and then ran to the store before heading to Down Town Disney. We found a few items and we got Matty a Mr Potato Head with a bunch of Disney parts. Once we were done putting a hole in our pocket we came back to the resort and I made pork chops for dinner then Matty went out and played in the sand for a bit.

So far we are having an AWESOME time, just wish it wasn't going by so fast.

New Week

Well the weekend is over unfortunately. Matt had to go back to work and it was raining out so I couldn't take Matty outside to play. I could tell Matty was board and itching to get out of the house so I decided we could take his movie back to Blockbuster and then go for ice cream. Matty got really excited over getting to wear his rain coat and using his Mickey umbrella. I loaded him in the car and off we went. We dropped off his Mickey Mouse movie and went to see what we could find. I thought for sure he would insist on another Micky movie but instead he chose Ice Age Dawn of The Dinosaurs, I don't know if there is a single part in that movie that he doesn't love. After we finished at Blockbuster we made a quick stop at Home Depot and then went to Friendly's. Matty and I split an order of the mini mozzarella sticks then we ordered ice cream, butter pecan for me and chocolate with m&m's, whip cream, and extra cherry's for Matty. While we waited for the ice cream Matty crawled into my lap and said "Rock like baby momma." So of course I did. I couldn't pass up such a request knowing that as he gets older those requests will be extremely rare. Once his ice cream arrived at the table though he was back in his seat in the blink of an eye. He was very excited about the extra cherry's, all 12 of them, LOL! And yes he ate every single one!
It was nice to go out and have a special treat with my little man, we'll have to do it more often. : )

It's the Weekend!!!

Yesterday we celebrated Mother's Day because Matt had to work last Sunday. We went into CT and went to the Cheese Cake Factory. Matty was so excited, he kept telling me and Matt he wanted cheese cake. I had this AMAZING pasta dish that I talked about the rest of the day, it was SOOOO GOOD! Then of course we had cheese cake for desert, plain with cherry's on top, yum! Matty shared mine but he mainly wanted the large mound of whip cream that came on the plate, lol. Once we were finished eating we went to a nearby mall so that we could check out their Disney store. I found Matty a new beach towel for Florida with Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald on it. He also got two pairs of sunglasses, we know something is bound to happen to at least one pair so we got two. After we finish checking out the cool Disney stuff we headed to Kohl's so I could get my slip on shoes that I wanted for vacation. When we were there I saw a really cute bathing suit. I thought what the hey and tried it on. I was really excited when it fit! I never have luck like that with bathing suits and I can't wait to wear it. Finally once we made it home we decided to get the fire pit out. We sat outside and enjoyed the evening with our neighbors and Matty curled up in my lap and fell asleep under the stars.
Today was more of an easy going day. Matt had to run into work for a short while so Matty and I went to the store. While we shopped we counted to ten a few times and said the alphabet while doing sign. Matty is really doing great with both. Most mornings Matt and I will wake up to Matty trying to say the alphabet or counting his way up to ten, SO CUTE!!! Anyway, once we got back from the store Matt was home. We let Matty play outside a bit before we put him down for a nap. Before we got little man back up we stared fixing dinner. Matt brought him down just as I was finishing cutting up watermelon. Matty kept saying "piece, piece" he couldn't get enough. When he would get a larger piece he would get really excited and say "OH! Ig piece! Ig piece!" LOL! Finally we all sat down to a large dinner of Brats, hot dogs, corn on the cob, HOMEMADE potato salad, and watermelon, it was all really good!
Tomorrow we are planing on getting up early and going to some garage sales, who knows what we'll find.

Mother's Day

Last night Matt brought home flowers for me, a simple mixed bouquet that was quite pretty. After giving me the flowers he asked what I would like for breakfast in the morning. My reply to his surprise was Panara. But of course it didn't matter in the end because we all slept in to late to go. Matt and Matty went outside while I got ready for the day. When I came downstairs and went outside Matt handed a card. Matty's little face lit up as he ran towards me to give me his gift. Then as he handed me the card he excitedly tried to repeat the words Matt was saying over my shoulder, Happy Mother's Day. His face lit up again, happy with the fact that he had pleased his momma. Then it was time to return his attention back to his car and spouting out his new favorite words "Oh My Gosh!"
So then we ate lunch real quick and Matt headed of to work while I got Matty ready and took him over to Kiddie Kandids for pictures. Matty wore  a t-shirt with Mickey, his Mickey hat with ears, and had his Mickey Mouse doll. He did a very good job posing the way the photographer wanted. Once he was done we did a little shopping and then returned home so he could play outside some more before dinner.
All in all it was a good Mothers Day but I am looking forward to my special Mothers Day meal that I get on Matt's next day off. Cheese Cake Factory, YUMMMM!

Easter 2011

Today was a GREAT day. We had a lot of fun and for the most part the weather was nice too. We started the day with Matty going through his Easter basket. He got a book with multiple stories in it, Bambie on DVD, play dough, a football, egg chalk, and of course a LOT of candy. Once he had finished going through his basket we went outside so Matty could find the eggs the Easter Bunny had hidden in the yard. He got excited each time he found an egg he would shout "A new one!" I think he meant another one but it was cute how he said it. After he had found all the eggs we went inside and had breakfast. While we were eating the sun came out so when we finished we went back out and Matty drove his Police car around and then played with the neighbor kids for a while. ( For a bit it looked like Toys R Us had thrown up on our lawn, there were so many toys out! LOL!) By mid afternoon the sun was finding it's way back behind some clouds  so we went back in. Matty opened his Easter bag from Grandma and Grandpa G. and one thing that was inside was a Mickey Mouse Club House DVD, so Matt and Matty watched that while I worked on stuff for dinner.  I worked hard and made us a big dinner with roast turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread casserole, deviled eggs, and strawberry delight. Once our belly's were full to the max we went back outside. Matty drove in his car and Matt and I threw the football around a bit. Finally we all started to tire out so we went back inside and relaxed a bit before putting Matty to bed. It really was a good day.

One LONG Day

Yesterday our new entertainment center came in Matt set it aside to put togeather after he got off work. Matty and I went over to our neighbors house and made hats for the Easter Hat Parade on Saterday, Matty's hat looks like Cookie Monster. Matty played with the neighbor kids a bit and then we came back home. Once Matt got off work he started in on the entertainment center, it was 11:30 pm. He finished, all but the back panel, around 3am. Once we got up this morning I got Matty and myself ready and we headed down to the community center. Matt finished the entertainment center and transferred everything over to it, it looks great! Matty didn't seem to excited about the activities they had planed at the community center so he spent most of the time on the playground. While he was playing, I talked to a lady who was with her grandson, he was riding a little four wheeler. They noticed Matty's interest in the bike and said he could have his old one if we were interested, all it needs is a new battery. I said yes and we picked it up a little over a hour ago. It's a one seat Ford Truck. I think we'll have him learn to drive in this so he doesn't destroy his Charger. Now we are sitting and watching Mickey. It's to late for him to go down for a nap so it will be early to bed, probably for Matt and I too. We didn't get much sleep last night making this feel like one LONG day and we have a very busy day planed for tomorrow so we really need our sleep!
