New Week

Well the weekend is over unfortunately. Matt had to go back to work and it was raining out so I couldn't take Matty outside to play. I could tell Matty was board and itching to get out of the house so I decided we could take his movie back to Blockbuster and then go for ice cream. Matty got really excited over getting to wear his rain coat and using his Mickey umbrella. I loaded him in the car and off we went. We dropped off his Mickey Mouse movie and went to see what we could find. I thought for sure he would insist on another Micky movie but instead he chose Ice Age Dawn of The Dinosaurs, I don't know if there is a single part in that movie that he doesn't love. After we finished at Blockbuster we made a quick stop at Home Depot and then went to Friendly's. Matty and I split an order of the mini mozzarella sticks then we ordered ice cream, butter pecan for me and chocolate with m&m's, whip cream, and extra cherry's for Matty. While we waited for the ice cream Matty crawled into my lap and said "Rock like baby momma." So of course I did. I couldn't pass up such a request knowing that as he gets older those requests will be extremely rare. Once his ice cream arrived at the table though he was back in his seat in the blink of an eye. He was very excited about the extra cherry's, all 12 of them, LOL! And yes he ate every single one!
It was nice to go out and have a special treat with my little man, we'll have to do it more often. : )

It's the Weekend!!!

Yesterday we celebrated Mother's Day because Matt had to work last Sunday. We went into CT and went to the Cheese Cake Factory. Matty was so excited, he kept telling me and Matt he wanted cheese cake. I had this AMAZING pasta dish that I talked about the rest of the day, it was SOOOO GOOD! Then of course we had cheese cake for desert, plain with cherry's on top, yum! Matty shared mine but he mainly wanted the large mound of whip cream that came on the plate, lol. Once we were finished eating we went to a nearby mall so that we could check out their Disney store. I found Matty a new beach towel for Florida with Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald on it. He also got two pairs of sunglasses, we know something is bound to happen to at least one pair so we got two. After we finish checking out the cool Disney stuff we headed to Kohl's so I could get my slip on shoes that I wanted for vacation. When we were there I saw a really cute bathing suit. I thought what the hey and tried it on. I was really excited when it fit! I never have luck like that with bathing suits and I can't wait to wear it. Finally once we made it home we decided to get the fire pit out. We sat outside and enjoyed the evening with our neighbors and Matty curled up in my lap and fell asleep under the stars.
Today was more of an easy going day. Matt had to run into work for a short while so Matty and I went to the store. While we shopped we counted to ten a few times and said the alphabet while doing sign. Matty is really doing great with both. Most mornings Matt and I will wake up to Matty trying to say the alphabet or counting his way up to ten, SO CUTE!!! Anyway, once we got back from the store Matt was home. We let Matty play outside a bit before we put him down for a nap. Before we got little man back up we stared fixing dinner. Matt brought him down just as I was finishing cutting up watermelon. Matty kept saying "piece, piece" he couldn't get enough. When he would get a larger piece he would get really excited and say "OH! Ig piece! Ig piece!" LOL! Finally we all sat down to a large dinner of Brats, hot dogs, corn on the cob, HOMEMADE potato salad, and watermelon, it was all really good!
Tomorrow we are planing on getting up early and going to some garage sales, who knows what we'll find.

Mother's Day

Last night Matt brought home flowers for me, a simple mixed bouquet that was quite pretty. After giving me the flowers he asked what I would like for breakfast in the morning. My reply to his surprise was Panara. But of course it didn't matter in the end because we all slept in to late to go. Matt and Matty went outside while I got ready for the day. When I came downstairs and went outside Matt handed a card. Matty's little face lit up as he ran towards me to give me his gift. Then as he handed me the card he excitedly tried to repeat the words Matt was saying over my shoulder, Happy Mother's Day. His face lit up again, happy with the fact that he had pleased his momma. Then it was time to return his attention back to his car and spouting out his new favorite words "Oh My Gosh!"
So then we ate lunch real quick and Matt headed of to work while I got Matty ready and took him over to Kiddie Kandids for pictures. Matty wore  a t-shirt with Mickey, his Mickey hat with ears, and had his Mickey Mouse doll. He did a very good job posing the way the photographer wanted. Once he was done we did a little shopping and then returned home so he could play outside some more before dinner.
All in all it was a good Mothers Day but I am looking forward to my special Mothers Day meal that I get on Matt's next day off. Cheese Cake Factory, YUMMMM!
